Several TU/e researchers discuss how to overcome the trials and tribulations of working from home.

The current Covid-19 quarantine has had a dramatic effect on research and teaching at universities and academic institutes around the world. At TU/e, the work of hundreds of researchers and educators has been disrupted as the Netherlands aims to curb the spread of the Covid-19 virus. In a new podcast series “Researching in Times of Covid-19”, TU/e science communication officer Barry Fitzgerald speaks to several TU/e researchers on how Covid-19 has affected their work and how to overcome the trials and tribulations of working from home.

The Covid-19 pandemic has had a dramatic effect on society. Many countries, including the Netherlands, have put strict policies in place to minimize traditional interactions between people in order to disrupt the spread of the virus. Shops are closed, bars are shut, and trains are less frequent. The world has come to a virtual standstill.

Of course, the academic world has also been affected by the quarantine situation as researchers and educators are forced to continue their work from home. To discover how the current situation is affecting research at TU/e, Barry Fitzgerald has spoken to four researchers about how they are coping with working from home.

The first episode is online from Thursday April 16th and episodes two, three, and four are released on Friday April 17th, Monday April 20th, and Tuesday April 21st respectively. In May 2020, two additional episodes in relation to projects associated with the current Covid-19 situation.
